From 1 January 2025: class 1 and 2 local governments are required to live stream video and audio of council meetings. Class 3 and 4 local governments are required to audio record council meetings.
The minimum requirement is that recordings are of a standard that enables people to effectively watch (if video is required) and listen to council meeting proceedings.
The Shire of Exmouth, as a class 3 government, offers video recording on a voluntary basis in addition to the legislated audio recording wherever possible.
