Wastewater Treatment & Disposal or Re-Use

Wastewater otherwise known as effluent includes water from residential, commercial, or industrial premises. There are specific legal requirements and guidelines, which must be followed for disposal and/or treatment and re-use of wastewater. Installation of all septic tanks and alternative sewage treatments and disposal systems are subject to the approval of both the WA Department of Health and the Shire of Exmouth. The installation must be inspected by an Environmental Health Officer to ensure compliance and a 'Permit to Use' Certificate must be issued before any system can be used.
