BARKING GECKO THEATRE COMPANY TO INSPIRE EXMOUTH YOUTH

The Shire of Exmouth is thrilled to announce the upcoming Barking Gecko Arts INSPIRE Exmouth Workshops in October and November 2024.

This exciting initiative will bring the renowned Barking Gecko Theatre Company to the region, offering unique drama workshops for local youth.

Barking Gecko Theatre has a rich history of creating award-winning productions for over 30 years, making it Western Australia’s longest-running professional theatre company. Dedicated to inspiring children and families, Barking Gecko has toured 12 countries and reached almost 1 million children with their original productions and creative learning programs.

These fun-filled 90-minute sessions, held at the Mandu Mandu Function Centre and Exmouth District High School, are designed to spark imaginations and build skills in a joyful and supportive environment. Led by Barking Gecko Teaching Artists, Mark Storen and Georgia King , these workshops will encourage children and young people to explore drama and performance-based skills whilst developing their self-confidence and self-expression in these creative and inspiring sessions.

The workshops are open to ages 8-12 and secondary students.

The Barking Gecko Arts INSPIRE Exmouth Workshops are supported by the Shire of Exmouth and the Woodside Arts Access Initiative. This partnership ensures that the workshops are accessible and affordable for local youth.
