Local Planning Scheme 4 Amendment 12 Available For Inspection Standard Amendment

Notice is hereby given that the Shire of Exmouth has prepared the above-mentioned Local Planning Scheme Amendment seeking to amend the Commercial Zone Code and add a list of Additional Uses to multiple crown reserves in the Exmouth Town Centre for the purpose of mixed use for both commercial and accommodation purposes. The five lots include 1364, 1027,913,1030 and 910 of which are bounded by Maidstone Crescent and Payne Street Exmouth.


It was resolved that the Local Government pursuant to section 75 of the Planning and Development Act 2005, amend the above Local Planning Scheme by:

  1. Deleting Restricted Use R1 from scheme text and re-numbering other Restricted Uses accordingly.
  2. Rezoning portion of Lot 1030 (Reserve 28817), portion of Lot 913 (Reserve 33568), Lot 1027 (Reserve 33569), and Lot 1364 (Reserve 41455) from ‘Commercial Mixed Business – C3’ to ‘Commercial Retail Core – C1’.
  3. Adding Additional Use A13 to portion of Lot 1030 (Reserve 28817), portion of Lot 913 (Reserve 33568), Lot 1027 (Reserve 33569),and Lot 1364 (Reserve 41455)) for Residential Building, Workforce Accommodation, Grouped Dwelling, Multiple Dwelling, Holiday Accommodation, Hotel, Motel and Serviced Apartment at Schedule 2 – Additional Uses.
  4. Rezoning portion of Lot 1027 (Reserve 33569), Lot 910 (Reserve 33566) and portion of Lot 913
    (Reserve 33568) to Reserve - local road.
  5. Amending scheme maps accordingly.

Plans and documents setting out and explaining the scheme amendment have been published in the following manner:

  • Digital documents and plans are available on the Shire of Exmouth web-site at
    www.exmouth.wa.gov.au
  • A hardcopy of the plans and documents are available for inspection at the Shire’s office, Ningaloo Centre, 2 Truscott Crescent.

Submissions on the planning scheme amendment may be lodged in writing and should include the amendment number, the name and address of the person making the submission, the property affected and details of the submission and lodged with the undersigned on or before Saturday 7th September 2024. Submissions can be:

  • posted to Shire of Exmouth, PO Box 21, Exmouth WA 6707
  • lodged in person at the Shire administration office, Ningaloo Centre, 2 Truscott Crescent.
