Residential Cyclone Green Waste Clean-up
Published on Monday, 7 October 2024 at 2:38:59 PM
The Shire of Exmouth is providing its free annual cyclone clean-up for residents. Green Waste will be collected from Monday, 21st October 2024.
The last day for disposal of green waste on the verge will be Sunday, 20 October 2024.
To ensure the success of the clean-up, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Council will collect green waste only
- Green waste must be separated into different groups (i.e. bagged leaves, palm cuttings/fronds, branches, trunks). Palm fronds will not be mulched so please ensure they are kept separate for collection
- Council will not enter private property to collect waste. All items must be on the verge
- Tree pruning waste is to be no longer than 1.5 metres and is to be separated from all other waste (clean green waste)
- Loose material such as leaves and other vegetation should be suitably wrapped, tied or placed in bags/boxes to prevent litter spread and to aid collection. Loose leaf litter will not be collected.
- Keep all green waste clear of fences, water meters, power poles, vehicles, trailers, Telstra pits, driveways, footpaths and gardens to ensure it is accessible for bobcats/loaders
If any other items are placed on the verge contrary to the above guidelines, the Shire will not remove your entire pile of waste. You will also be required to remove the items yourself and could be liable for a penalty (maximum being $5000),
If you have any enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact the Shire Works Depot on 9949 3080.
